Gratings

Gratings are optical elements composed of a series of equidistant parallel engraved lines. It is a kind of dispersion element that uses the principles of light diffraction and interference for spectroscopy. It is widely used in biochemical instruments, spectrometer, spectrophotometer and other related products or related fields.

There are two types of gratings, transmissive and reflective. Reflective gratings are often used in spectrograms. Each equal-width and parallel line slot has the effect of an optical slit. There will be 1200, 1800, 2400, etc. engraved lines per millimeter, and there will be hundreds of thousands of engraved lines on the entire grating, which will play an effective role in spectroscopy.In general, reflective gratings, because the main pole of zero-order diffraction without dispersion ability in grating diffraction accounts for 80% of the diffracted light intensity, the light intensity weakens as the main pole increases, so the line groove is carved into a zigzag shape to make it have the ability to shine in a directional manner, so that the ability can be concentrated and distributed in the required wavelength range.From the production method, it can be divided into line-engraved gratings and holographic gratings. Line-engraved gratings are made by engraving lines on the reflective surface by a marking machine, while holographic gratings are made by laser interference photography.
